Activity: Face Time
Not the iPhone kind of Face Time. This is the nose to nose, butterfly kisses kind of face time. Spread a blanket on the floor, lay your baby on the blanket (start with tummy time if they will tolerate it). Then, get on the blanket with your baby, face to face and start making faces, singing, smiling and responding to them. Face time is a simple, engaging, and pleasurable form of play for your baby. Babies prefer to look at faces over any other toy.
We know babies prefer to look at faces that:
-are smiling -have open eyes -are looking them directly in the eye -are familiar -are responsive to their actions.
Spending face-to-face time with your baby not only makes them happy, it also helps develop a bond between the two of you that can lay the foundation for a healthy relationship in the months and years to come.
